ABS-CBN holds 'Trabaho Patrols' in various parts of the country

Over the weekend, thousands of job seekers trooped to ABS-CBN Regional Network Group's "Trabaho Patrol" which was held in various parts of the country together with the Department of Labor and Employment.
Fresh graduates, young and old and even those with disabilities lined up at the tables of local and overseas employment agencies--- all hoping to land a job.
Accompanied by his mother, Jan Erik Balbastre of Camarines Sur did not want to miss the opportunity.
"Pareho lang naman kaming may mga kapansanan sa mga walang kapansanan," sadi Balbastre who came on his wheelchair.
"Pinalaki ko ang anak ko na nakikipaghalubilo sa lipunan at para 'wag maging withdrawn," said his mother, Purita.
In Isabela City in Basilan province, apart from the job opportunities, residents and government agencies see the activity in a more positive light. They want everyone to have a job here or abroad to get them away from possible involvement in rebel groups.
In Cebu out of 3,0000applicants, 200 were immediately given jobs by local employers while 20 were hired on the spot for overseas
Likewise, in Trabaho Patrol activities in Iloilo, Isabela, Butuan City, General Santos City, Baguio City, Davao, Pampanga and Batangas City, most of the in-demand applicants abroad are skilled workers like welders and heavy equipment operators.
