Endangered species of reptiles and rare, colorful fishes were the center of attraction for children in SM City Bacolod last Saturday and Sunday.
The reptile aquatic adventure, organized by SM with Eljin Aviary and other local pet stores, featured various animals that can only be seen in the wild.
Different species of turtles were individually placed in aquariums - common snapping turtle, mata mata turtle, long- necked turtle, soft- shelled turtle, alligator snapping turtle, red- eared slider turtle, box turtle and pig-nosed turtle.
Two green iguanas, a monitor lizard and sailfin lizard also draw the attention of the crowd.
Several species of pythons were also present such as the Burmese python, albino Burrnese python, ball python and reticulated python.
"By holding this exhibit, I want the public to be aware of the importance of these animals and how we should take care of them. I also want to give them the chance to see these wonderful creatures which are rarely seen today," said Elik Divino, owner of Eljin Aviary.
