13-year-old Pinoy artist hailed as little Leonardo da Vinci

A 13-year-old Filipino is getting media attention in Milan for his extraordinary talent in art. The only child of a Filipino couple from Pangasinan, BJ Dagdag Jr. has the ability to make exact copies of famous paintings such as the Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci and The Old Guitarist by Pablo Picasso. BJ and his family have been featured in several Italian magazines. His parents, Benjamin and Carina, still cannot explain the boy's phenomenal talent since both their families do not have any background in arts and drawing. BJ started his interest in drawing at the age of eight, concentrating initially on cartoon characters. The Italian employer of the Dagdag couple has committed to pay for BJ's college education. BJ is the youngest attending the special night art courses at the prestigious Civica Scuola, a renowned art school in Milan. He says that in the future, he wants his own solo exhibit focusin on abstract collection. (ABS-CBN Europe News Bureau)
