The father of ace comedienne Ai-Ai delas Alas was laid to rest Saturday morning.Rosendo delas Alas, 88, died last December 31 due to cardiac arrest.
He was buried at Eternal Gardens Memorial Park in Baesa, Caloocan City around 10 a.m. Saturday.
“May he rest in peace and siyempre mami-miss namin siya,” delas Alas told “Entertainment Live.”
Prior to his death, Rosendo underwent an operation to remove a cyst from his intestine on December 23. He was discharged from a hospital on December 29.
Delas Alas said, although her father had been in and out of the hospital, his death still came as a “shock” since he was doing fine after his last operation.
“Pero ganoon talaga buhay. Siyempre lahat naman ng tao namamatayan, malungkot. Iniisip ko na lang hindi nahirapan ang tatay ko, hindi na mahihirapan sa sakit niya,” she said.
“Hindi ako lumaki sa tatay ko, hindi ako lumaki sa pamilya ko dahil adopted ako ng auntie ko. Hindi kami close [pero] siyempre tatay ko siya. Nakakalungkot na mawalan ng isang part of the family,” she added.
Delas Alas was raised by her aunt, Justa, who is the sister of her father.
