BAGUIO CITY, Jan. 15(PNA) - The temperature of Baguio downtown area further dropped to 7.5degrees celsius 4 a.m. Thursday, its fifth lowest in the entire Baguio weather history, according to the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA). PAGASA official Letty Dispo said in Mount Santo Tomas, which is the highest peak in this mountain resort 250 kilometers north of Manila, the recorded temperature was 4.4 degrees celsius, also the fifth lowest felt by the few villagers there. To date, the lowest temperature recorded in downtown Baguio was 6.3 degrees celsius in the morning of January 18, 1961. Schoolchildren and other residents trooped to their schools and places of work in heavy apparels, bonnets, hand gloves, mufflers and other accessories to fight the very cold weather.(Philippine News Agency) LDV/AAG
