The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has announced that taxi drivers will begin issuing receipts to their passengers beginning next month.
LTFRB chairman Alberto Suansing warned that the board will cancel the franchise of taxi operators if they fail to comply with the directive.
A taxi receipt is expected to have the following information: name of the taxi operator, business name of taxi operator, telephone number of taxi operator, taxi's plate number, date of the trip, total fare amount and name of taxi driver.
The implementation of the issuance of taxi receipts was supposed to begin in January of this year.
Operators, however, asked that it be moved to May so that they could allocate funds for this.
