Period: 1990-2006
- A landslide struck Barangay Guinsaugon in Saint Bernard, Southern Leyte on February 17, 2006. Continuous rains in the two weeks preceding the landslide saturated the ground and triggered the disaster. 154 people were killed, while 968 remain missing.
- Typhoon Unding, Tropical Storm Violeta, Tropical Depression Winnie and Typhoon Yoyong (November 14-December 3, 2004) devastated Central Luzon, Southern Luzon and the Cordillera Region with landslides and floods. Tropical Depression Winnie, in particular, brought about major landslides in General Nakar, Real, and Infanta, Quezon.
- Continuous rains caused landslides in Southern Leyte and Surigao in December 2003. 207 people were killed in the disaster; of this number, 154 died following three successive landslides in Liloan, San Ricardo and San Francisco, Southern Leyte.
- Around 200 people died in the aftermath of Tropical Storm Nanang (November 6-10, 2001). Most of the casualties came from Camiguin province.
- Typhoon Edeng (July 3-8, 2000) triggered the landslide at the Payatas dumpsite (Payatas Tragedy) in Quezon City on July 10, 2000. More than 200 people were killed in the incident.
- Typhoon Ising (July 28-August 1, 1999) led to a landslide in Cherry Hills, Antipolo, Rizal (Cherry Hills Tragedy) in August 1999. 54 people were killed in the incident.
- M/V Princess of the Orient sank in the vicinity of Fortune Island off Batangas, on September 18, 1998, at the height of Typhoon Gading. 70 were killed in the ship's sinking.
- Tropical Storm Uring (November 2-6, 1991) led to the Ormoc Tragedy on November 4, 1991. Almost all barangays in Ormoc City, Leyte were washed out; more than 5,000 people were killed in the disaster.
