Mariel grew up in Davao. Her parents separated when she was four, and her mother got married again to a Fil-Chinese businessman. Mariel's mother founded an orphanage which she is now managing.
When she was young, Mariel was a very wild girl. She fell in love with a man, and she later got pregnant. At first she didn't want the child. It was only months after when she finally embraced motherhood. Mariel used her child as her impersonation to lead a better life.
What would you consider your greatest accomplishment so far?
Finishing school, becoming a housemate.

    i like her palaban side, yes shes obviously loud and irritating sometimes, but im now seeing her real side. if you’ve seen the episode knina, she was just trying to protect the domino tower away from princess. she was the only one na may lakas ng loob kalabanin si princess, others were intimidated.i salute her for that.di katulad nila melay and jason, halata mong walang utak pag nag-isip, wala silang pake kung masira ung tower at matalo sa weekly task. and i can tell that mariel is very intelligent with the way she answered back to princess kanina. so i think shes not really the type to hate at all, she’s sweet, strong and she can blend with the other housemates. THAT’S WHY SHE’S STILL INSIDE THE HOUSE, FOR GOD’S SAKE! not like princess, di kinaya thats why nag voluntary exit. lol. well btw, this is just my opinion. i hope hindi lng ako ang hindi hater ni mariel dito :)
