5. w/c he had seen and observed in his surroundings. My argument also answers these questions: “Is the concept in general for "imortal" original?” NO. “Does it help that the scriptwriters are doing the best they can to distance this show as just a spin-off of ANY western vampire literature?” NO. “Can we use this show as basis of how creative & UNIQUE the Pinoy imagination is? NO.

4. AND for god's sake, pls, scriptwriters! I know it's fiction, but at least make it logical! Stop making Pinoys idiots! If an aswang-like creature will transform into an animal, remove the wolf from your list! Pls? Again, we dont have wolves here! The aswang culture can be dated back to thousands of years ago and I'm sure whoever had the hobby of crafting any morphing bloodsucking creature during those times DIDN'T have a wolf in mind apart from the BABOY RAMO, KAMBING, TAMARAW, MANOK etc.
3. Just so you know they were created by those spellcasting herbalists to represent the pain the natives endured during Spanish rule. For those who considers the "lobo" w/c we associate with the werewolf, pls consider this: lobo is Filipino for wolf, correct, QUESTION, “Are wolves part of the fauna in our country?” NO. So there's no chance that our ancestors included that in our folklore. It was the European influence to us that incorporated that creature in our supernatural vernacular.
2. It's of European origin! Weren't we under 300+ yrs under a European country? So what we have here w/ regards to fangs, shapeshifting, bloodsuckers are the "aswang". diff creatures can be attributed to that (manananggal, tiyanak, tiktik) . ok, an aswang in general knowledge can transform into any living creature it wishes whether human or animal. It’s not Caucasian, albino or an elitist because it lives deep in the jungle where “mambabarangs” reside as well.
1. I understand they are trying to incorporate the vampire and werewolf culture into the Filipino culture; or that’s just how basically the audiences would just take anything as true on just about anything they see on TV. But you see, what most of us don’t realize is that it is just a take on someone else's culture. Yes, the word "bampira" & "lobo" are Pinoy words, BUT it's all for the sake of translation. FYI, WE DON'T HAVE VAMPIRES & WEREWOLVES in the authentic Pinoy folklore.
@Vanles25 I beg to differ though. I have read the books in the saga and Rob as well as the cast translated the emotions well into screen. Of course, the book was about forbidden love and angst.
@M4A1CARBINE1000 gago ka pala eh dun ka tumira wag ka d2 sa pinas. kylan ba nagkaroon ng pang Hollywood class na fantasy move/show sa pinas?? mag-isip ka nga
@serenity0324 lol dollars earned=/=better acting. Twilight is as a hollywood movie and advertised world wide while imortal is just a pinoy soap viable only to PH and TFC subscribers, also it didn't have the budget and marketing that twilight had.
And yes the acting is better IMO. Why? the pinoy actors in imortal is more refined and the scenes are more natural than the cheesy, cringe worthy scenes in twilight.
Ang WEAK naman ng mga bampira pati na ang mga lobo WEAK din..!!. Ang graphics lang lobo pangit di tulad ng lobo sa van helsing, twilight, underworld at american werewolf in paris hindi halata na CG.

I was not planning on watching this because of the overhypeness of werewolves and vampires (note: I still think the vampire and werewolf hype is soo overrated) BUT I came across the scene where she transformed into the werewolf and I was HOOKED, soooo I had to watch from the beginning and I must admit, It's pretty damn good! The graphic is so and so, but the plot makes up for it.
@YvanPaolo AGREE! I hate it when a show or movie comes out about W and V, people assume that it copies Twilight...VD was written WAY before twilight ever was...I do admit that Twilight brought out the V and W hype...
@ohiomikata agree with you! there's a HUGE difference between COPYING and following the CONCEPT of something...
There's a lot of stories out there that it's hard to stay away from the concept, but it's NOT copying, it's called renovating...sometimes the outcomes might not be for the better but it's not copying...
