Last September 18, twenty-five of the most beautiful and most gorgeous Filipina gathered for the historic first Miss World Philippines 2011, produced and aired by broadcast giant GMA Network from the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) plenary hall.
"And it was the Filipino-French beauty from Muntinlupa City--Gwendolyn Ruais--who was crowned Miss World Philippines 2011 at the glittery finale of the beauty pageant.
"Tomorrow, the whole country will once again witness the majestic reign of Gwendolyn Ruais--who is set to represent the Philippines in the Miss World Pageant in London, England this November--in a special airing of Miss World Philippines 2011 on the country's leading news channel GMA News TV.
"Ruais, who also bagged the Best in Swimsuit Award and hailed Miss Healthy Body and Miss Smart Extraordinary, proved that her 5'11'' stature was only one of the many things that made her standout. She believes that her passion, desire and drive to win were the key to her success.
"With her in the final 5 are 1st Princess Helen Nicolette Henson (Miss Metro Dental Smile), 2nd Princess Martha Chloe McCulley (also Miss Kapuso World and Miss SMDC), 3rd Princess Ma. Paula Bianca Paz (Best in Evening Gown) and 4th Princess Jaysel Arrozal.
"Meanwhile, the other candidates who received special recognition in the pageant are: Rogelie Catacutan (Miss Friendship and Miss Talent), Samantha Neville Purvor (Miss Photogenic and Miss Manny O' Wines), Jayanne Aldanese (Miss Philippine Prudential Life Insurance), Erina Ann Lightholder (Miss Shimmian Award), Richelle Therese Borja (Miss Sheridan) and Loucelle de Jesus (People's Choice Award).
"Viewers get the chance to again witness the success of the highly-anticipated beauty event that was directed by Louie Ignacio (who was also the composer of the pageant's theme song) and hosted by Dingdong Dantes, Isabelle Daza and Carla Abellana. The event also featured special performances from Kapuso stars Mark Bautista and Aljur Abrenica.
