abs-cbnNEWS.comActress-comedienne K Brosas may look tough and cocky but she admitted that she feels pressured now that she has moved to ABS-CBN, which is also the home turf of top comedians Ai-Ai delas Alas and Pokwang.
Brosas is now a Kapamilya after joining the cast of "My Girl", the Filipino version of the original Korean telenovela. The Pinoy "My Girl" , which stars Kim Chiu, is Brosas' debut project in ABS-CBN.
"Of course nandoon 'yung pressure nandoon 'yung excitement, halo-halo. Iba ang ipapakita ko this time sa tao, kasi nasanay sila na komedyante ako, na kikay-kikay ako. Dito talaga as in sosyalista, so maganda ang pressure sa akin--nakaka-inspire," Brosas said.
The actress however said that she doesn't have any problem with Ai-Ai and Pokwang because she already worked with them before.
"Lahat naman yon, close ko na yan kahit ibang network pa ako; before close ko na yan si Ms. Ai-Ai kasama ko sa Backroom. Si Ms. Pokwang, kaibigan, ok na before pa. Walang naging problema at masaya ako," Brosas said.
VillainessBrosas plays the main villain in ABS-CBN's version of the hit Korean telenovella.
"Hindi comedy ang levelling ko sa "My Girl" kung hindi serious acting. Ismir lang ako ng ismir kasi ako ang kontrabida," Brosas revealed.
She said that she decided to move to ABS-CBN after her contract with GMA-7 expired.
"Actually wala na akong kontrata, so walang kontrata tapos na ang kontrata ko sa "Bitoy's sa show ko sa GMA. Tapos biglang in-offer sa akin itong role," Brosas said, adding that even though the role is her first heavy drama, and is a departure from her usual comedic style, it was too big a break for her to pass up.
"Parang kapag pinalagpas ko ito parang manghihinayang ka ng sobra. Kasi kakaiba talaga siya at saka isa ako sa main cast. First time kong mabibigyan ng ganito kalaking break," Brosas added.
The actress said she accepted the project because of its good story and not because of money.
"Gusto kong mapunan 'yung pagiging artistic ko. Kaysa yung tinatawag na 'tugtug pera', ayaw ko naman ng ganoon. So this time talaga kahit anong i-offer sa akin basta maganda yung role ay kakagatin ko talaga," Brosas said.
K Brosas is also known for singing jazzy blues tunes. She is also the lead singer of the group, K and the Boxers. She has appeared on different shows over GMA-7 and won the Consumer's Choice Best Actress in a comedy role.
