Twister destroys 13 homes in Negros Occidental

Thirteen houses were destroyed when a twister hit Barangay Lalagsan, La Castellana, Negros Occidental Sunday afternoon. The twister hit the area amid heavy rains.
No injuries were reported but 14-year- old Aldren Bayog was nearly hit by debris after his house collapsed. He was able to get out before the structure crashed.
He was alone in the house when the incident took place. His parents were out working in the ricefield.
Aside from Bayog's home, some 50 of his mother's banana trees were uprooted.
Twelve houses in Bayog's neighborhood were also blown away by the twister 100 meters from where they originally stood.
The local government of La Castellana has started distributing aid to affected families.
