10 Long Holidays in 2009

Last December 24, 2008, President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo signed Proclamation 1699 that lays out the holiday schedule this year 2009.

REGULAR HOLIDAYS:
Araw ng Kagitingan (Day of Valor)- April 6 (April 9 is the original date)

Easter Holidays- April 9-12

Labor Day-May 1(Friday)

Independence Day-June 12 (Friday)

National Heroes Day-August 31 (Monday)

Bonifacio Day -November 30 (Monday)

Christmas Day-December 25 (Friday)

Rizal Day- December 30 (Wednesday).

PGMA declared the following as Special Non-Working Days:

Ninoy Aquino Day -August 21 (Friday);

All Saints Day -November 1 (Sunday)

All Soul's Day -November 2 (Monday);

Christmas Eve -December 24 (Thursday);

New Year's Eve -December 31 (Thursday).

  1. araw ng kagitingan's date was april 9 that PGMA moved to april 6. did the araw ng kagitingan retained it's "LEGAL HOLIDAY - DOUBLE PAY" basis even if she moved it to another day? or did it become just another "special nonworking day - 130%" day??
