In the 2004 national elections when he ran as senator of the Philippines, despite the initial low public opinion surveys, Gordon won and received the fifth highest number of votes from the electorate even without sectoral and religious command vote support. Filipinos warmly received his very positive personality and track record of achievements. He passed the very first law in the 13th Congress, Republic Act No. 9333, fixing the regular elections at the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM), and several other important laws, including Republic Act No. 9369, the New Automated Election System law; Republic Act No. 9334, the Sin Tax Law, Republic Act Nos. 9399 and 9400, fixing the tax regime in Special Economic Zones and Freeports in Clark in Pampanga, Poro Point in La Union; and John Hay in Baguio; Republic Act No. 9346, the abolition of the death penalty law; and Republic Act No. 9367, the Biofuels Act of 2007. Furthermore, as Chairman of the Senate Committee of Consitutional Amendements and Revision of Laws, he upheld the supremacy of the Constitution at all times. Though he may not have voted for the ratification of the 1987 Constitution, he took an oath to preserve and defend it.     @UgatingPukiNiJoma this way of thinking is not right at all. You vote the other just because you dont want someone else to win even though he is not also capable? Nasaan ang biniyayaang utak sayo? Vote to whom you believe in naman! I will vote for Gordon because I purely believe in him! He got ideals and actions! Gordon is the man!

    kaw lang ang nagmulat sakin sa MAAUS na POLITIKA... dati alam ko lng eh magalit sa gobyerno dahil sa nangyayari.. pero ng marinig na kita at nakita q ang galing mo sen. gordon, di q napanood to sa tv lahat.. yan ang 1 in a million LEADER!!!

    Di man lang ako maka-boto dahil U.S citizen ako pero Isang Presidential candidate na walang bahid na corruption at lagi nasa kalamidad upang tumulong sa mga mamamayan sa lahat ng bahagi ng Pinas is deserving to be the next President of the Philippines at si Richard Gordon yun. He live a modest lifestyle despite all the corruption going on in the Philippines. Gising na, mga mamamayan at huwag sayangin ang Motto sa halalan na ito na "Ako ang simula. Kay R. Gordon gaganda ang kabuhayan ng Pinas.

    ... between the two Atenean's I will stick my vote to Sen. Gordon. He is more qualified than Sen. Noynoy Aquino. Bata pa si Noynoy next time na lang siya. Ibigay na lang niya kay Dick ang panolo. Tutal mas may mangyayari sa pilipinas for the next 6 years one term presidency kay Dick. Mas sayang ang boto natin kay Sen. Noynoy at Sen. Villar. agree ??

    GORDON FOR PRESIDENT! With proven leadership, intelligence and pristine image he'll definitely make a very very good president .Villar has doubtful motive, Noynoy lacks leadership and Filipinos had a taste with Estrada administration. Don't be blinded with their multi-million ads. Those people who funded for them will someday ask in return paving way for never ending corruption. Common guys, wake up!

    Sen. Gordon believes in free of corruption in Philippine Government ! "Ang Galing ! Sa paniwala ko ha mababawasan o kaya mapipigilan ang kurapsion sa Pilipinas kapag si Dick ang mamumuno. Subok na siya matagal na ! Dapat lang siya ang Pangulo ng Pilipinas for the next 6 years, 1 term President. Sa idad niyang 64 years old - prime years na niya - puro resbisyo sa bayan na siya . Alangan namang masira pa siya sa panshong ito diba. So mag ambisyon tayo kasama ni Gordon. Lets unite behind Dick.

    The main problem is the Filipino People, they do not know how to vote for the right leader, they only rely on popularity and not the capacity of a candidate, but now thanks to the internet people can now hear how every candidate speak their mind. Hope we all vote wisely this time, to vote proven leaders who do not just talk big or promise big but have already done big things with the capacity to influence his people in a positive way. This is a man who can truly make change in men.

    Kung concern ka sa bansa na to, tumulong ka na ma-educate ng kapwa mo na maging matalino sa pagpili ng kandidato. Huwag maging bahagi problema kundi solusyon. Korapsyon ang problema ng bayan na to, kaya napag-iwanan na tayo. IBOTO ANG TAMA, ITAMA ANG BOTO! Huwag ibenta ang boto, ito ay kinabukasan, trabaho, kalusugan at ito iyong kaluluwa
