Ratings of Aquino gov't fall: SWS

Public satisfaction ratings of the Aquino administration fell by 18 percentage points from November 2010 to March 2011, the Social Weather Stations (SWS) said on Tuesday.

The Aquino administration's net satisfaction ratings (% satisfied minus % dissatisfied) fell from +64  in November 2010 to +46 in March 2011, the SWS said.

The SWS, however, said the the +46 rating in March 2011 is still "good."

The SWS survey was conducted from March 4 to 7, 2011 using  face-to-face interviews of 1,200 adults in Metro Manila, the Balance of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. It has a margin of error of 3% for  national percentages.

Respondents were asked: "Sa pangkalahatan, gaano po kayo nasisiyahan o hindi sa kasalukuyang administrasyong nasyonal? Lubos na nasisiyahan, medyo nasisiyahan, hinid tiyak nasisiyahan o hindi, medyo hindi nasisiyahan, lubos  na  hindi nasisiyahan."

The Aquino government's net satisfaction ratings went up by 1 percentage point in Metro Manila, but dropped by 27 percentage points  in the rest of Luzon.

In Visayas, its ratings fell by 8 percentage points (+59 to +51)

In Mindanao, net satisfaction ratings fell by 20 percentage points (+67 to +47).

Among socio-economic classes, the Aquino government's net satisfaction ratings plunged 43 percentage points among the upper and middle classes.

Among the masses (D), it fell by 18 percentage points.

In the lowest socio-economic group (E),the government's ratings fell 15 percentage points.
