CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela, March 20 (PIA) – Instead of conducting it in public, the Diocese of Ilagan has shifted its masses through internet, TV and radio from March 18, 2020 until April 14, 2020 in support to the government's Enhanced Community Quarantine in the entire Luzon due to COVID 19.
The notice was signed by Bishop David William Antonio of the Diocese of Ilagan as a precautionary measure to prevent the possible spread of the Corona Virus Disease (COVID) – 19 among parishioners during masses.
Fr. Vener Ceperez, Social Communications Director of Diocese of Ilagan and Parish Priest of St.Anthony de Padua Parish church in Reina Mercedes, Isabela said the mass that will be held through internet and radio which will be held at the parish church live every Sundays at 6:30 am.
“To all parishioners of the Diocese of Ilagan, there will be no public masses from March 18 to April 14, 2020 but a private mass will be conducted live in internet and radio broadcast,” Ceperez said.
He said the 12:00 noon and 8:00 pm Oratio Emperata prayer simultaneous with the ringing of bells in all churches in the Diocese will also be conducted.
Ceperez said churches in the entire Diocese are still open to give the parishioners a time to pray inside the church but parishioners are advised to strictly observe sanitizing and practice social distancing.
Meanwhile, the Diocese also temporarily cancelled marriage and christening rites while for funeral rites will be done in the house of the bereaved family or in a chapel. (MDCT/BME/MGE/PIA 2-Isabela)
