NEGROS OCCIDENTAL, March 24 (PIA6) - The 303rd Infantry Brigade, Philippine Army, deployed its Army Reserve Force to augment manpower in all quarantine border control points in the province, a press release from the brigade said.
Through the 605th Community Defense Center of Army Reserve Command (ARESCOM), Philippine Army, a total of more or less 150 Army reservists were deployed in quarantine border control points to ensure that there are enough forces to support the Inter-Agency COVID 19 Border Monitoring and Regulation Task Force of the province.
The Army Reservist's force is one of the components of Citizen Armed Force, alternately referred to as the Reserve Force.
Its mission is to provide the base for the expansion of the Armed Forces of the Philippines in the event of war, invasion or rebellion, among others.
"Serving the people is one of our mandated tasks. Hence, your Army in Negros has its full support to our Local Government Units to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus in the province, 303rd Brigade Commander Col. Pasaporte said.
"Once again we are calling every Negrense to do his or her part and cooperate in adhering to all guidelines and safety tips set forth by our health authorities and the local government to be one in our effort and fight against the COVID-19 threat,” he added. (303rd IB/JSC/LLJR-PIA6)
