DAVAO CITY, March 20 (PIA) - The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) has started 12:00 noon today (March 20) a strict observance of a jail lockdown.
This is an emergency measure or condition where jail personnel shall be temporarily prevented from entering or leaving the jail and its premises during the threat of the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.
Visitation activity and the handing over of supplemental food meal will be restricted/disallowed as an intensified precautionary measure in the prevention of entry/transmission of COVID-19 in the jail.
All medical practitioners in the BJMP are on duty 24/7 if there would be any medical emergency that may arise.
The jail lockdown is in observance to Presidential Proclamation 922 which places the entire country under a state of National Public Health Emergency.
The BJMP COVID-19 Task Force in a statement has assured that all measures are being done to make all jail facilities COVID-19 free. (PIA/RG Alama with reports from BJMP-XI)
