DOLE to provide assistance to workers amid COVID-19

ILOILO CITY, March 24 (PIA6) --- The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in Western Visayas will provide financial assistance to the workers in the private sector who are affected by the Coronavirus Disease (Covid-19) crisis.

DOLE-6 Regional Director Cyril Ticao said that under Department Order No. 209, Series of 2020, COVID-19-affected workers in the private sector could avail of financial support and employment facilitation under the COVID-19 Adjustment Measures Program (CAMP).

“The CAMP is a safety net program that offers financial support and employment facilitation to affected workers in private establishments that have adopted flexible work arrangements (FWAs) or temporary closure during the COVID-19 pandemic,” he said.

He said it aims to provide financial support to mitigate the adverse economic impacts and reduction of income brought about by the pandemic.

Under this program, affected workers will receive a one-time financial support of P5,000 in lump sum, non-conditional, regardless of their employment status.

Affected workers will also be provided access to available job opportunities suitable to their qualifications through job matching, referral, and placement services.

According to DOLE-6, the documentary requirements include the establishment report on COVID-19 form, as required under Labor Advisory No. 9, Series of 2020. This form can be downloaded from the DOLE-6 website at ro6.dole.gov.ph.

Likewise, the company payroll for the month prior to the implementation of FWAs or Temporary Closure is required. Companies must also submit the bank account details of their respective affected employees.

Requirements can be submitted through the email addresses where their company is located: doleiloilocamp@gmail.com for Iloilo; dolenegroscamp@gmail.com for Negros Occidental; doleaklancamp@gmail.com for Aklan; dolecapizcamp@gmail.com for Capiz; doleantiquecamp@gmail.com for Antique; and doleguimarascamp@gmail.com for Guimaras.

Personal follow-ups are discouraged as part of the precautionary measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19. DOLE-6 personnel will only deal through electronic means.

DOLE-6 will evaluate the submitted application within three working days from receipt thereof. The department will notify the applicant within three working days through e-mail if their application is approved or denied.

The agency  will issue the financial support directly to the beneficiary’s payroll account through bank transfer within two weeks upon receipt.

A Notice of Completion will also be issued to the affected establishment within three working days through electronic mail. (JSC/LTP/PIA-Iloilo)
