KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato, Mar. 27 (PIA) --Following the confirmation of a COVID-19 positive case in adjacent province, South Cotabato Governor Reynaldo Tamayo Jr. issued amendments to his Executive Order No. 18 on Thursday, specifically pertaining to entry of persons, medical personnel, and essential goods and products to the province.
In the new order, Executive Order No. 20, Gov. Tamayo prohibits entry of all medical personnel practicing, employed or stationed outside of South Cotabato. They may opt to continue their sevices in their respective stations but are required to undergo 14-day quarantine before they are allowed to return to the province.
Patients undergoing dialysis or treatment outside of South Cotabato are urged to transfer treatment to health facilities within the province. The provincial government will pay for the expenses in excess of the PhilHealth benefits. Those who must continue their treatment outside of the province will be allowed to leave the province but they as well as family members, assistants, or helpers who accompanying them must also observe 2-week quarantine before they can return to the province.
Under extreme circumstances, those seeking immediate medical attention and services may be allowed to go out of the province only if the said medical assistance or procedure is not available within the province. However, the same shall be required to observe 14-day quarantine before their return to the province
Delivery and entry to the province of goods, medical supplies, food items and essential products necessary for human and animal consumption shall only be allowed after the strict observance of one driver-one helper–policy. Drivers and helpers of the cargo and transport vehicles shall disembark at the designated borders of the province and shall observe stringent sanitation protocol.
Entry of nonresidents is strictly prohibited.
On Wednesday, the Department of Healh 12 confirmed that an 87-year-old male patient in Sultan Kudarat Province who died last March 14 was tested positive for coronavirus disease. (DED-PIA 12)
