CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela, March 23 (PIA) – The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) – Isabela is eyeing to produce at least 6,000 face masks to be given to frontliners who are battling against COVID-19 to include health workers and police personnel.
Vocational School Superintendent of Isabela Schools of Arts and Trades Edwin Madarang said face mask is an essential protection against Corona Virus Disease (COVID) – 19 during the duration of the quarantine.
He said ISAT – TESDA trainees are tapped to produce face masks in their homes as a precautionary measure and the materials in producing face masks are provided by ISAT – TESDA.
Madarang said TESDA Director General Isidro Lapena has ordered all TESDA schools in the country to produce face masks as it is badly needed especially to frontliners manning the checkpoints and health care providers.
He said there are already initial 500 face masks that were turned over to the City Government of Ilagan and will continue to produce until all the targetted 6,000 pieces be given to other frontliners in the province.
Meanwhile, Madarang said that aside from face masks, students on bread and pastry also produces breads and it will be given free to the personnel manning the checkpoints in the city. (MDCT/MGE/PIA 2-Isabela)
