PASIG CITY, March 22 (PIA) -- Following strict community quarantine procedures, personnel of the Makati Action Center (MAC) has started the distribution of food packs for public school students in barangays La Paz and San Antonio, delivering the bags directly to their given addresses as ordered by Mayor Abby Binay.
Earlier, the mayor announced that the food packs will be delivered next week to where the students live so they need not go out of their homes.
“I have ordered our city personnel and Department of Education-Makati to fasttrack the distribution of the food packs to give immediate relief to our students and their families,” Mayor Abby said.
The mayor reiterated her appeal to the residents, including students, to remain in their homes as the city government continues to find ways to help them get by while the enhanced community quarantine is in effect.
“We are doing everything possible to help our residents cope with the crisis. We are already putting in place various forms of assistance for the other sectors of the community. I urge everyone to be patient and to cooperate by staying home,” the mayor said.
